The Global Bohemian & The Lakshmi Store, Folkestone

Some collaborations are planned. Others happen completely organically.

We're so excited to share that you can now shop a handpicked selection of The Global Bohemian at The Lakshmi Store in the heart of Folkestone – an independent boutique that brings together dreadlocking, piercing, handcrafted Indian clothing and artisan giftware, all under one colourful roof.

If you love bohemian clothing, boho fashion and beautifully made pieces created from Indian textiles, you've just found your new favourite shop.

When Dhara suggested stocking The Global Bohemian in her boutique, we couldn't have imagined a better home for our collections.

The journey so far

Our journey with Dhara and The Lakshmi Store has been over a year in the making. We first connected when she became an affiliate for The Global Bohemian, and since then we've loved watching her business grow into the vibrant, creative space it is today.

From the very beginning, we realised we shared the same passion—not just for India and its incredible textiles, but for the artisans, heritage crafts and stories woven into every fabric.

What makes this collaboration even more special is that we're both doing something quite rare. We each design contemporary Western silhouettes using traditional Indian fabrics, creating clothing that's easy to wear while celebrating the beauty of handcrafted textiles. Dhara's own collection features saree silk and kantha cotton, designed into timeless styles that complement our collections beautifully. Rather than competing, our brands sit effortlessly alongside one another, offering different interpretations of the same shared love for Indian craftsmanship.

A shared love of India and design

As lovers of Indian textiles ourselves, we know how difficult it can be to find boho clothing that combines beautiful Indian fabrics with flattering Western designs. Too often, the fabrics are incredible, but the styling doesn't translate into pieces you'll reach for every day.

That's exactly why this partnership feels so right.

Together, our collections celebrate the beauty of Indian craftsmanship in different but complementary ways, offering bohemian clothing that honours traditional techniques while fitting effortlessly into modern wardrobes. They're colourful, versatile and designed to become the pieces you reach for time and time again.

More than just a stockist

At The Global Bohemian, every collection begins with the people behind it.

We're known for creating colourful bohemian clothing using beautiful Indian textiles—from reclaimed saree silks and hand-stitched kantha to vibrant Suzani embroidery and soft cottons. Every collection is produced in small batches with skilled artisans, creating unique women's clothing that's made to be loved season after season, not worn once and forgotten.

For us, finding a home for our collections has never been about being stocked in as many places as possible. It's about partnering with independent businesses that genuinely share our values—celebrating slow fashion, artisan craftsmanship and consciously made clothing.

The Lakshmi Store is exactly that.

Proud to be sharing: space, values and love

It's the kind of independent boutique where every piece has been chosen with intention and every corner tells a story. Whether you're searching for ethical boho clothing, festival fashion, handcrafted gifts or simply something a little different from the high street, it's a place that's full of inspiration.

We're incredibly proud that The Global Bohemian has found its home there, and we can't wait for you to discover it too.

Keep an eye out for designs like the Oriane Jumpsuit, the Folk Waistcoat, the Riya Tunic and the Nomad Tunic. Each one unique, each one as individual as you.
